Hi! My name is Jenny and I am a Media and Journalism degree holder who specializes in writing articles related to Women's Football. I graduated in 2023 with a BA (Hons) degree, and have been working to find ways to pursue this as my job ever since.
I have always loved writing, from writing poems and stories in primary school, to writing essays in secondary school and moving on to working in social media and digital journalism at college, with a few cringy fanfictions along the way, writing has always been a passion of mine.
I am currently working alongside FootieFusion, which is an online Women's Football site made up of many collaborators, and have been given opportunities to write articles such as match previews and reports, news articles and feature articles about games and players I love most, as well as working in press boxes and being able to interview players and managers in the industry.
After working on a sports media module at Northumbria University as part of my course, I developed an interest in working in the industry, and coming from a family of football fans, I felt this was a perfect way to get into writing for sports, and I feel it has brought me to where I am today. On my website, you will find all my works, as well as content I have created on social media.
I decided to create a website after developing my skills at university, to give myself a space to write freely, and to open myself to more opportunities in the sports industry, and I am so excited to begin documenting my journey on here.
A few fun facts about me!
- I am only 5ft tall, so don't be shocked if you ever meet me in person at how short I am!
- I work full time in an office, it can be boring at times but it brings money in, hahaha!
- I drive, I find it really therapeutic driving around and listening to music and singing my heart out (when I'm not being a taxi for others of course).
- I love musical theatre and have performed in some shows over the years, but I love going to the theatre and watching shows. My favourite musicals are Heathers and Wicked (not going into how many times I have seen these shows as it is soooo embarrassing).
- I have a dog called Olaf who is 10 years old, he is my best friend in the world and I am obsessed with him.
- I go to local games with my Dad, younger sister Emily, and a family friend, and I often travel to other games with my friends.
